About Greensboro

The city of Greensboro is a vibrant community located in the heart of North Carolina’s Piedmont Triad Region.

The Greensboro Jewish population dates back to the early 1900s and is an active, involved, and dynamic community today.

When you need a break from campus,  Greensboro houses the International Civil Rights Center and Museum, Triad Stage, the Greensboro Cultural Center at Festival Park, and the Greensboro Science Center, which includes an Animal Discovery Zoo and a new SciQuarium. NFL Football, NBA Basketball and NHL Hockey are nearby and make for great school outings, plus concerts at the Greensboro Coleiseum, local festivals, the North Carolina State Fair and so much more.

Greensboro’s historic downtown has great restaurants, antique shops, and art galleries. For fans of outdoor activity, the Piedmont Triad region is filled with spectacular national parks with biking, walking, and hiking trails.

Just minutes from the Academy are numerous shopping centers with supermarkets, Target, Starbucks, a Trampoline Park, movie theater and bowling alley. Basically, you will never be bored! Students can take advantage of regularly scheduled shuttles to enjoy what Greensboro has to offer.

Greensboro is a wonderful home for the Academy. Our students get involved in the Greensboro community. They volunteer for Special Olympics, Greensboro Youth Leadership, Friendship Circle, and other Jewish and civic organizations. They participate in extracurricular activites off campus, study at local colleges, and take advantage of the warm and involved Jewish life in the local congregations.

Greensboro is ranked among the top 100 best cities in America by U.S. News & World Report.
